The Memorial also features 19 soldiers who represent the American Navy, Air Force, Army, and Marines and a South Korean soldier who fought with them.  Dedicated in 1995, a plaque at the Korean Memorial honors the 1.5 million Americans who defended "a country they never knew and a people they never met."
